In 1892 a group of farmers organized a cooperative company under the name of Farmers Alliance for fire and lightning protection. The company was formally organized in 1896. Today there are over 200 agencies throughout state of Kansas writing farmowner, homeowner, dwelling fire, farm property and private passenger auto policies.
