CyberScout Announces Partnership with NAMIC Insurance Company to Offer Data Risk Services to NAMIC Member Insurance Companies

CyberScout, the nation’s premier consultative provider of identity and data risk management, resolution and education services, today announced at the National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies (NAMIC) 117th annual convention its partnership with NAMIC Insurance Company (NAMICO), a professional liability insurer serving the needs of more mutual property and casualty companies than any organization in the United States. Through this partnership, NAMICO will offer DataRiskStages™ services to NAMIC member insurance companies.

DataRiskStages™ features access to CyberScout’s team of breach consulting experts and 24/7 access to a breach preparedness website and eLearning Training Platform. In addition, the firm acts fast to help avert a crisis when a breach takes place. Its experts will assess the severity and damage of the breach, advise on regulatory and consumer notification, and create action plans for responding quickly and efficiently. CyberScout also will draft a customer notification letter and, for larger breaches, help design and implement a password protected-website to communicate with those who are affected. Services also include computer forensics analysis, incident damage reviews, and digital evidence preservation.

“NAMICO is continually looking for ways to enhance the value of the insurance products we offer to our members and agents and their clients,” said NAMICO's President and CEO Tim Sullivan. “Teaming with CyberScout allows us to deliver critical data breach and identity resolution services. Policyholders now have access to fraud specialists and, in the case of a data breach, assistance in responding to the situation, as well as help with facilitating claims processing.”

Small and midsize businesses (SMBs) have a higher risk of their employees mismanaging data than enterprises, according to "The Human Factor in Data Protection," by Ponemon Institute. Because of this, SMBs experience a higher rate of data breaches than larger enterprises. Recognizing the need for businesses to be protected, NAMICO is offering DataRiskStages services, including proactive, compliance, privacy and forensics consulting, as well as reactive services for Insurance Company Directors & Officers Liability and for Insurance Agents Errors & Omissions Insurance.

“We’re thrilled to announce this partnership with NAMICO to provide their policyholders with comprehensive data risk management services,” said Sam Broomer, CyberScout's Vice President of Business Development. “Businesses face a host of inconveniences and potential legal penalties when they experience a breach. NAMICO policyholders can now rest assured that any data risk occurrence will be properly managed and resolved.”

CyberScout was on-hand at booth #407 to share the latest data risk management trends and reveal its many comprehensive identity and data risk solutions and services.
