The firm will help Chubb’s high-end personal insurance customers replace lost identification while traveling. In addition, Chubb’s automobile insurance customers will have free access to a team of professional fraud specialists to help protect them from the growing threat of identity theft. The restoration service was previously available only to Chubb’s homeowner customers.
Millions of Americans are victimized by identity theft each year and according to Gartner Research Group, the number of victims has risen by 50 percent since 2003. At roughly the same time, the financial loss per consumer has more than doubled from $1,408 in 2005 to $3,257 in 2006.
