Enumclaw Insurance Group today announced its new partnership with Arizona-based CyberScout™, the recognized leader in identity theft resolution and education. Enumclaw will now offer to all of its farm owner, personal auto, and homeowner policyholders identity resolution services, should they fall victim to identity theft. In addition, Enumclaw policyholders will receive assistance to recover or recreate missing personal identification after a disaster or other mishap.
Identity Fraud Resolution Services“We are committed to finding ways to demonstrate the value of membership in our member-owned company,” said Gerry Schmidt, President of Enumclaw Insurance Group. “Since identity theft impacted nearly 10 million people last year and one-in-nine households in the state of Washington, we thought it timely to introduce this program to our policyholders.”
The service provided through CyberScout offers a personal advocate who works one-on-one to direct and assist policyholders through the challenges of identity and credit restoration. Some highlights of the service include:
- Placing credit file fraud alerts with all three major credit bureaus
- Completing the Federal Trade Commission Fraud Victim Affidavit
- Notifying police departments, creditors, collection agencies and credit rating agencies
- Access to proactive educational materials at www.mutualofenumclaw-idtheft.com
- A full year of credit monitoring and fraud monitoring
- Resolution of account takeover and policyholder inquiries as well as true name identity theft for policyholders and their immediate family members
“Thousands of families are victims of identity theft every year in this country,” said Vice President of Marketing at Enumclaw, Bob Horn. “It’s devastating on both a financial and emotional level. Unfortunately, criminals are using our personal information to their advantage. We feel it is important to provide our policyholders with a way to fight back. Through our partnership with CyberScout, we now provide a service that can help them restore their good name and reverse these acts of fraud. It’s all part of our promise to “be there” when our policyholders need our help.”
“We are proud to have partnered with a Northwest regional carrier as highly esteemed as Mutual of Enumclaw,” said Sheryl Christenson, CEO of CyberScout. “Identity theft in Washington and Oregon is a growing concern; the crime increased by 45% from 2002 through 2004 and nearly 260,000 Washington state residents were victimized in 2004, alone. We have no doubt that Mutual of Enumclaw’s response to this issue will be greatly appreciated throughout their customer base.”
Identity Disaster ResponseCyberScout will help disaster victims obtain emergency identity authentication and verification as well as access to their financial accounts. CyberScout will work with government agencies and institutions to reclaim documents such as birth certificates, driver’s licenses, passports and Social Security cards as well as checks and credit/debit cards.
“This new service could be critical to victims following a hurricane, tornado, fire, terrorist attack or other catastrophe,” said Enumclaw’s Schmidt. “In situations like these, people cannot begin the arduous process of recovery without valid identification and other personal records.”
