Gwinnett Federal Credit Union announced today a new identity theft protection service provided in partnership with CyberScout, the recognized leader in identity theft resolution, defense, and education. Under the program, CyberScout's industry-leading victim resolution services will be available to approximately 10,000 Gwinnett FCU checking account holders AT NO COST to the individual members.
"Identity theft is very high on everyone's list of concerns," said Marshall Boutwell, President and CEO of Gwinnett Federal Credit Union, "and it's natural for a member-owned institution like ours to provide this benefit to our members. We feel a duty to help our members avoid it, and help those who are victimized to resolve the situation and get on with living their lives."
The CyberScout resolution program includes a personal advocate who works with the victim every step of the way to resolve the crisis and restore the victim's identity. Members will also have ongoing access to the nation's leading consumer education program on identity theft risks and defenses.
"The state of Georgia has been a leader in addressing the identity theft crisis," said CyberScout CEO Sheryl Christenson. "In providing this essential service to its members, Gwinnett Federal Credit Union continues its own tradition of leadership and innovation on their behalf. CyberScout is honored to join forces with Gwinnett FCU to protect its members against this growing threat."
