Society Insurance announced that commercial line policyholders now receive comprehensive data breach and identity theft services at no additional cost through CyberScout, America’s leading provider of identity theft resolution and education services.
“Data breaches cost businesses and consumers millions of dollars each year,” said Rick Parks, COO of Society Insurance. “Through our partnership with CyberScout, proactive and reactive services will help protect our policyholders, their businesses and their reputation in an era of increased identity theft.”
Commercial policyholders are included automatically in CyberScout’s “Total911” solution that provides both proactive measures to help reduce the risks of a breach and expert post-breach services to assess, communicate and resolve it. Employees of the business and their immediate household members will have access to CyberScout’s “LifeStages” program for expert one-on-one resolution services and consultation, plus credit and fraud monitoring tools, during various life events when consumers are particularly vulnerable to identity theft. Finally, all policyholders will have dedicated online access to CyberScout’s proactive educational material, including daily threat alerts, investigative articles, monthly newsletters, white papers and tips.
Policyholders will also have access to coverage options: reimbursement coverage to business owners for breach related expenses, and liability coverage so business owners can protect themselves against lawsuits resulting from breaches of personally identifiable data.
“Commercial data breach is a new and growing risk to businesses of any size,” said Matthew Cullina, CEO of CyberScout. “Society Insurance recognized this critical need for more progressive policyholder services and coverage options to prepare for and resolve the effects of a breach.”
