Info Security Products Guide’s (ISPG) 2018 Global Excellence Awards

CEO of the Year (Chief Executive Officer) | 100 - 499 Employees
Silver Winner: Matt Cullina, Chief Executive Officer, CyberScout (100 - 499 Employees).
Matt Cullina has served as CEO of CyberScout since 2008. Under his leadership, CyberScout has evolved from a service provider enjoying strong partnerships among personal lines carriers in the United States to a multifaceted, award- winning provider of identity and data risk management, breach response, resolution and education services around the globe.
Cullina spearheaded the creation of the Privacy XChange Forum, an annual conference focused on emerging topics in privacy and security. The event draws speakers from around the world and has hosted experts from the FTC, IRS, the White House, and the United States Congress.

Cullina serves on the board of the Identity Theft Resource Center (ITRC) and was a member of the Rhode Island Cybersecurity Commission. He is a graduate of Salve Regina University and lives with his family in Providence, R.I.

Cyber Security Vendor Achievement of the Year (100 - 499 Employees)
Gold Winner: CyberScout (100 - 499 Employees), for Equifax breach resolution services.
When identity theft strikes, the impact on its victims can be devastating. A survey conducted for CyberScout by the Identity Theft Resource Center, shows that nearly half of consumers don’t know where to turn after a data breach that makes them vulnerable to cybercrime. Nor do they know whom to trust. Fortunately, millions of people have access to CyberScout’s resolution services team as a service through their insurer, bank or employer.

The team’s dedication and responsiveness was tested in September 2017, when the credit rating agency, Equifax, was hacked. With more than 134 million consumers affected and CyberScout’s service available to 18 million households, it was the busiest month in the company’s history. Within a few hours of the news about the breach, the resolution center experienced a ten-fold increase in calls. The average call lasted 20 minutes and the team placed thousands of fraud alerts with credit rating agency TransUnion for its customers.
The data breach exposed sensitive personal information including names, birth dates, Social Security numbers and other important identifiers that can be exploited by identity thieves. Personal information of this kind can be used in a wide variety of identity theft scenarios, including tax fraud, bank account take-over, card fraud, and attempts to open new lines of credit in a victim’s name.
The Equifax breach response is a great example of the dedication, professionalism and experience of CyberScout’s team of resolution experts.

Customer Service Team of the Year
