United Fire Group Expands Complimentary Commercial Breach Services for Business Policyholders

CyberScout, the nation’s premier consultative provider of identity and data risk management, resolution and education services, today announced that longstanding partner United Fire Group has expanded their offering of CyberScout’s DataRiskStages™ services to select business policyholders at no charge.

According to "The Human Factor in Data Protection," by Ponemon Institute, small and midsize businesses (SMBs) have a higher risk of their employees mismanaging data than enterprises.  Because of this, SMBs experience a higher rate of data breaches than larger enterprises. Recognizing the need for businesses to be protected, United Fire Group is providing DataRiskStages™ mitigation coverage to business clients as a complimentary service.

DataRiskStages™ provides proactive and reactive data breach services to clients, including access to CyberScout’s team of breach consulting experts and 24/7 access to a breach preparedness website. In addition, the firm acts fast to help avert a crisis when a breach takes place. Its experts will assess the severity and damage of the breach, advise on regulatory and consumer notification, and create action plans for responding quickly and efficiently.

Identify Theft 911 will also draft a customer-notification letter and, for larger breaches, help design and implement a password protected-website to communicate with those who are affected. Services also include computer forensics analysis, incident damage reviews and digital-evidence preservation.

“United Fire Group is continually looking for ways to enhance the value of the insurance products we offer to our agents and their clients,” said United Fire Group Vice President and Corporate Underwriting Manager Al Sorensen. “Teaming with CyberScout allows our policyholders to take advantage of the data breach and identity-resolution services. These services include one-on-one access to a fraud specialist and, in the case of a data breach, assistance in responding to the situation.”

In the event of a data breach, small businesses can rely on CyberScout’s LifeStages™ Identity Management services to provide high-touch identity resolution assistance to victims. Fraud specialists cover a range of issues, from proactive measures to take throughout a person’s life to true identity theft and account takeovers. The fraud specialists work one-on-one with victims and are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week until resolution is complete.

“We’re thrilled to continue our partnership with United Fire Group to provide their policyholders with comprehensive data risk management services,” said Matt Cullina, CEO, CyberScout. “Businesses face a host of inconveniences and potential legal penalties when they experience a breach.  United Fire Group policyholders can now rest assured that any data risk occurrence will be properly managed and resolved.”
